The Choir

The members of Heath Street Choir are drawn from a wide diversity of backgrounds and musical experience, ranging from complete beginners to experienced singers. Here are some mini portraits, in words and pictures, of a few of us.

How/when did you start singing?

I couldn't ~ or didn't ~ sing before lockdown! Practising a little bit every day during Covid got me up to the level I needed to be to join the choir.

What’s your favourite warm-up exercise?

‘Little boy played a game with a ping pong ball" (with a ping, with a ping, with a ping, pong, ping, pong...)’.

What’s your day job?

I conduct three choirs (two of which practice at Heath Street Baptist Church), have my own band, and teach singing and music theory.
